Our garden club is collecting seed packets for the people of Afganistan. Any suggestions? So far only lentils have been mentioned.Or let me know if there might be another forum for this.

Thanks, I saw that too. I guess like in Texas, there is a big variability depending on where you are. There watermelons and rice on that list.
Would it be best to send money, so that they could buy the most needed and locally adapted food crop varieties? Maybe auction off the Texas seed packets to raise funds?
Or were yall thinking more along the lines of pretty flowers, just to have a little treat, a patch of something nice, rather than trying to supply productive varieties?
I think the idea was to help the soldiers there have good will offerings for the locals
