a pair of Storks

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)

last year i was so excited because a Stork visited our lake for the first time since i've lived here. he stayed a couple of weeks, on and off, and then left.

now for the past couple of weeks we not only have one but several in the area. they move from lake to lake within our neighborhood and lately two of them have been choosing our backyard to roost at night. they're on the ground so i don't know if that's really roosting but once again, i am very excited by their presence.

this is a bad picture but i dare not get closer this near to darkness falling. i want them to feel safe here.

i had to re-touch the photo to lighten it up and it's not very sharp.
