I'd like to know how they got those colors.

Somebody has to much money!
Like our governor, old family money & don't know the meaning of watching your pennies.
Bernie, who thinks $1.85 for a baby chick is a little steep!

Ferndale, WA

LOL COUNTRY: I'm with you, and I don't think much of those that try to or even succeed in seducing the foolish. You can almost bet it will be a female that will respond to that type of add...Sorry Ladies, I was not talking about the Ladies of this forum...Honestly...

Richmond, TX

Nah, women are much more practical about unnecessary stuff than men are! It's men who buy the trucks, cars, appliances with all the extra bells and whistles; women just want something that works. (That might not apply to chickens though.)

Ferndale, WA

I totally agree, except when it comes to chickens. ten times as many women keep chickens than men do. More women have chickens by far in their homes than men do. There are seven women for every man on byc. Wanna bet...LOL...Hay

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

this woman would never even think to coming close to spending that kind of money on a chicken. I don't think I could even if I were rich

Richmond, TX

I agree with both of you. The majority of chicken owners are women and the majority of those chickenheads would never spend that much for any chicken. Don't you wish you could find out who, if anyone, actually buys one of those birds?

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Well sure makes me feel better for spending as much as I have! LOL I'm over the obsession part now, and can settle down and just enjoy them.. I would never spend that kind of money though.. and I can safely say never in this case, cause it's an orpington! LOL

(Zone 5b)

At that price they'd have to clean their own coop and get their own breakfast. That's crazy expensive.

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

I found a $5000.00 chicken.

LOL...

Richmond, TX

She certainly looks as if she thinks she's worth it!

Los Gatos, CA

It looks like, if you have an extra $5000., you can also have the Cream Legbars!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

no the reserves have not been met. look doesn't end for 48 days!!!

Bridgewater, ME

Speaking of orpintons does anyone on here have blue or lavender orpintons?

(Zone 5b)

Seriously, where would you keep chickens that were that so called valuable & enpensive? Wouldn't somone steal them?

Ferndale, WA

I love this thread, You Ladies just made my point. I said none of the ladies here would pay that, but, mark my word, some lady will. Having said that if I find out a man did I'm going to have a sex change...LOL...Hay

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

the 5000 bids are from a man Jon Burton. He sells chickens. I guess he thinks he can make his money back off them. I would take the cue that only a few people have bid and only a few hundred dollars at best. He'll never make his money back

(Zone 5b)

By making the price so high someone will think they are getting something extra special? Hay, I almost hope a woman does buy them, you'll look darling after your operation LOL

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

ROFL @ Annie!!

Ferndale, WA

To cute Annie: Seriously I'd sure like to be a fly on the wall when it comes to what some people will spend thinking their gonna strike it rich. Seems to destroy the fun...Hay

(Zone 5b)

I think that's what happens when greed gets in the way. I'd much rater get a good deal and love to barter and haggle over price LOL

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I,m with you Annie. I love to barter or trade with little if out cash out of pocket
