"English Fuschia"

Niles, MI(Zone 5a)

I am sure this is not the name for the plant I am looking for, hanging plant, semi smooth, opposite leaves, dark green and ridged, blooms are light lavendar, with a white 1-1/2 inch long throat, blooms are rould, not individual petals. I think it belongs to the Gesneriad family. Does anyone have a clue as to what it could be?
I oney wish I had a picture of it, but Grandma is long gone and so is the plant, and I would like to find it again. she always called it her "English Fuschia".

Anabelle what I know as Fuchsias are different plants. Some of them are used in hanging baskets and some like mines I've trained to be upright plants. Here is a picture of my first bloom of this years. They come in a variety of colors but usually in the reds, fuchsias, purples and pinks

So was it the streptocarpella?

I have a couple varieties of streptocarpella if you want some cuttings when the weather warms up. They root really easily. Just d-mail me if interested.
