I have my doubts that spring really exists. Does anyone else feel the same or are you a true believer.

Spring will come?
We havent gotten as much snow as others south of me and definitely to the East... Our first 'snow storm' is on the way today into Wed.
But -- I think Spring will get here, just not as soon as i'd hope.
And I dont trust Punxsutawney Phil that's just the silliest thing....

How much snow are you expecting?
We're suppose to get a wintery mix from tonight until Wednesday. That's worse than just snow. At this point in time average temps would feel fine, but nothing like that in the forecast.
mao
they are saying 1-2 feet
my guess is 6"
it is supposed to start later today/tonight and into Wednesday. But looking at the radar, unless the winds shift from the north... i just dont see it. and it's supposed to be windy.
Good luck on that. I'd much rather shovel six inches.
Now if we could just get a tropical blast of air and get more high temperatures up in the low thirties in the next ten day forecast and no more teen highs.
I really feel for the folks who are expecting the ICE
we maybe got an inch last night... and here is what is forecasted
1-3 today - Tuesday
12+ tonight
3-5 Tomorrow - Wednesday
They are saying the Biggest Storm "ever" in Chicago - since 1967
I recall not long ago, it had to be early 2000, maybe 2003 - it was first week of Dec.
i was visiting my mom in AZ and had to stay an extra day because of 3' of snow fell in Chicago
maybe they are calling this worse due to the winds we are going to have... but certainly not in inch accumulation.
**edited to make it 1967, not 68

I saw that on the news too. It made me think how much better their weather must be compared to Cleveland's. Cleveland is a lot windier too even though Chicago get the nickname. I'm sure glad I'm completely out of the snow belt. There's been three years in the last couple decades that the got over 100 inches.
We got the first wave of ice. It took my DH 55 minutes instead of his usual 25 to get home from work, and he has 4WD. He got off at 3:30 a.m.
I couldn't even walk when I took the dogs out a bit ago. Now we're waiting for the snow. Luckily I get to stay home, but I feel for DH.
Nope, spring is just a rumor. I ordered some seeds a few days ago. I'm not convinced February will ever end. It's the longest month of the year anyway, and then it starts like this.
it's ironic you call Feb the longest month, since it is actually the shortest.... but i hear ya on the long cold month.
Thankfully we are not getting the Ice. DH did check to make sure we have gas for the generator -- just in case.
Just got in from shoveling... it's really windy, so i have no idea how much snow we got last night.... 1-2" tops ... but probably closer to only an inch.
>>even though Chicago get the nickname.
I've actually heard that Dallas is the windiest city in the nation -- which i find hard to believe... but Chicago gets it due to the Politicians, not the actual weather wind, but the wind-bags
I guess we all have to 'hang on to our hats' until Thursday when the system has completely blown thru.
Beautiful image... if we keep those in our minds... hopefully Spring will come faster.
