I have a RIR that has been cracking me up. There is a tear in the screen of the door into the coop. It's one of those, "I've should fix that today" things that I just haven't gotten around to. Anyway, almost daily, this silly girl climbs through the hole into the barn room adjacent to the coop. She has made a little nest for herself in the loose straw by the bales and every day, lays a perfect brown egg. Then, when I bend down to pick her up to put her back (she can't figure out how to make the return trip), she squats like she's "assuming the position". It's pretty funny. Fortunately, my in-laws' dog tore up the screen on their porch door, so I have some I can fix my coop door with. She'll just have to learn to lay her eggs with the other ladies!
P.S. Has anyone else been having trouble with DG lately? I am frequently having a hard time opening links. Like I can get to the homepage, but then get an time-out error trying to get to this board. Or when I was building a trade-list, I kept timing out, or it took forever to load. I'm not having any other problems online, and I've had this happen at work as well as at home. Anyone else?

I love RIRs... I only have one right now, but she is about as vocal as they come... I only have one other hen that chatters more.. and she really doesn't chatter she yells... I call her Mona.. a real long and loud baawwwk... LOL
