Puppy is an aggressive chewer

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Abby is a 9 month old Malti-Poo. She was supposed to weigh in around 7 pounds, but currently she's at 9 pounds 3 ounces. I think she's taller and longer than the breeder thought she'd be. She has always loved to chew. She hasn't ruined anything around the house, except for 1 throw rug. Otherwise she's kept her chewing to her toys. The older she got though, the stronger she chewed, the harder she pulled, the more damage she did to her toys. Anything soft, she tore to shreds within minutes of getting it. Our older dog, an 11 yr old 5 pound 7 ounce long haired Chihuahua had a soft squeaky pork chop that she liked to chew on. Abby got a hold of that and tore the end off it! You know those flat, no stuffing animals they advertise on tv? I can't remember what they're called. Crazy Critters? Her first one lasted about 4 months. Then all of a sudden within a few days she tore the paws off, the ears, then ripped it open so the squeaky thing was open and ready for her to chew on. I cut it out. She continued to rip it apart, so I took it away and took it back to Petco, where the manager said I was lucky that it lasted that long. They aren't made to last for long, a month maybe. I don't believe that, but I wasn't going to argue with him. We went ahead and bought her a different one, a rabbit. It didn't look like she'd have as many things to rip off on the rabbit. But she had the eyes off in 30 seconds, and had it opened, the squeaky thing out within 5 minutes. Again I cut that out and gave it back to her. She laid on the floor by my feet and I could hear her ripping the thing, so again, I picked it up. This time I threw it away. The thing didn't last an hour!! Before we got her, we picked up a lot of toys, one was the Nylabone key ring. She hasn't really chewed on them much, she's chewed on other toys. They've almost all been thrown away, so she's started to chew on this, and I just recently noticed that she's shredded the ends of the keys. I did a search on the Nylabone because I didn't think that was suppose to happen, and I read that a puppy with their adult teeth should NOT chew on the key ring. She has her adult teeth. Also in my search, I came across all these sites on how bad the Nylabone is. It shreds, which I've seen, but others are saying that the bones are coming off in chunks and the dogs are swallowing it and then dying.

Abby LOVES to chew! She's left with a Kong, the one you stuff with treats, and a rope pull toy that she likes to chew on. And that's it, all the rest have been thrown away.

In my search, what I came across for the aggressive chewing dog, is something called a Hurley, made by West Paw Design in Montana. Has anyone heard of this or does anyone have this and what's your opinion on it? If not this, then what is a good chew toy for the aggressive chewer? I've never seen a small dog with such a strong jaw.

Thanks for any help,

~Terry
