Another Hot Cocoa Mix - for Hostanquilts

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Here's the ratio of "stuff" that I use to make mine - I often double the recipe if I'm making batches for gifts:

4 cups nonfat powdered (dry) milk
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 3/4 cup coffee creamer - any brand
1 1/2 cup powdered chocolate drink mix (Nestle Quik or another brand)

Mix together in a large bowl. Stir until no streaks remain and color is a uniform light brown/gray. Store in airtight container until ready to use.

For each cup of hot cooca, place 1/3 cup of mix in 8-10 ounce mug. Pour in hot (not boiling) water and stir. Add marshmallows if you like 'em.

A Christmas twist - crush up peppermint candy canes or disks and add about 1/4 cup finely crushed candy to the mix for "Minty Hot Coca Mix". I often give a bag of mix (with instructions) tucked into a Christmas mug (or two) to teachers, my mail carrier or trash haulers - they really seem to appreciate it!
