This is a beautiful flower. Will it grow in a house here in N. Alabama? I have wanted orchids for a long time, but a vanillia orchid would be tops!!

Hi Luciee,

Many folks grow Vanilla vine indoors. They will root in a terrestrial orchid potting mix with bark added. They like to have something to climb on and can get huge!
I'm not sure how well they would flower indoors. Feeding the vine regularly with a liquid fertilizer will help.

Where can I order a vanilla orchid and get a good one? I know I will have to provide support and proper conditions. Do they have to be misted, as in humid conditions? My Mother used to work for a garden center in 1959 and for a few years. She said they would grow at room temp. I have always been interested, but never took time to inquire.
