CLOSED: Is this an Eastern Phoebe?

Wappingers Falls, NY

I saw this during last summer and had it marked down as an Eastern Phoebe, but having seen some other pictures of Phoebe's which seem to look a little different I thought I'd check whether it is one or something else. Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking Eastern Wood Pewee

Thats a very good picture - to explain what Resin says - Eastern Wood Pewee as Sibley said have distinct wing - bar while Eastern Phoebe have weak wing bars. One more thing - Eastern Wood Pewee and Willow Flycatcher are very difficult to tell apart. Wood Pewee don't flick its tail while Willow flycatcher does.

Thank you both. The picture was a bit of a crop as it was fairly high up in the tree, I remember it being quite vocal which is what first made me notice it.

That makes it Eastern Wood Pewee - Sibley said they like to sit on prominent perch while Willow flycatcher usually like incospicious perch. Willow also like shrubby wetland too while Eastern Wood Pewee like mature forests and forest edges.

Agree with Eastern Wood Pewee...a juvenile at that time.
