This may belong in the container gardening forum, but I think it can apply to regular gardening. Today in the Dollar Tree I found these jars of polymer water absorbing crystals. They are the same stuff as is sold for water retention in soil- I got 5 jars to try-
My find of the day
I noticed it's biodegradable. How many years do you think it'll last? I don't think I'd use it in a vegetable garden. It might be a big help in sandy spots for flowers. I really don't know anything about polymer absorbing crystals.
