Remember Jadee

Bridgewater, ME

Remember Jadee the little silkie that I hatched out and raised her in a fish tank?I had such a hard time trying to get her into the silkie group she was afraid of them and didn`t know that she was a chicken, finallly we moved the fish tank out in the coop and she stayed in it for a few weeks untill she got used to the others,Well she layed her first egg this week. When I went out to check on them and get the eggs she was laying on top of smoke another silkie that has gone broody and there was her egg that she had just layed.Glad she turned out to be a girl.

WOW!!! Love the pic's. I agree with you Green, I love the babies, there is just something about the babies I can't resist. I also agree with ZZ's, that baby looks just like the blues I recently bought.

Last Sunday and Monday I hatched out six new seramas, five were from brown to buff colored but one was black. I sold the five but kept the black. ZZ's this is my very first solid black serama I have ever hatched, I'm really hoping she/he stays solid black. Also I only have three of my blue silkies left, two died. But the three are doing very well. If I get one hen out of the three I will be happy...Hay

Oh My Gosh haystack a Black Serama How wonderful! I dont blame you I would have kept it too! So sorry about the loss of your little Blues. :0(

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your lil black baby! Too bad about the silkies.. I think they are very prone to Merecks.

I love Silkies.. (even 1/2 silkie now) LOL

Chicks are so adorable!

Here is a picture of my new lil black Serama. This child is so hyper. I can't put she/he down and get a pic cause it won't sit still for one. It runs across the table the second you put it down. It paces and chrips without stopping unless I or Karen hold it. It's a spoiled pistol, no doubt...

Jadee has 6 so far,I thought she only had 7 eggs so one must have gotten layed in there before I got her closed in,will wait another day or so to see if they hatch. The little brown one must take after her,she looked like that when she was little.

I don't know what color you'd call it, but those are excellent pic's. Your birds are beautiful, and talk about fluffy butts. WOW, I really love those pic's. Very talented photographer...i'd say. Spring, I think is going to finally arrive. It was snowing here yesterday but this morning it was forty two degrees and the sun is out and gorgeous today, I sure hope it lasts more than one day...LOL...Thanks for the pic's green...
