Happy birthday, Patti! I hope you have a wonderful day and are somewhere where you can been warm and fed while snowed-in.
Thanks all. Being a Queen and The Lady of the Island all in one day is too much, but I love the titles. No bowing, please.
We got up to Vermont late last night after spending the day in Boston, but got here well before the snow. We have16" so far this morning and still coming down, but oh so pretty. Nantucket has had almost no snow, just wind, but the power is still on according to friends.
Not feeling any older, just happy to be still ticking. To celebrate further, I will spend this snow day looking at plants online. My Mom was overly generous this year with a birthday check. She is normally pretty consistent with one that would cover a lunch out but this year we had dinner last night on her, plus I still have some money to spend on some more plants. Yippee.
Again my most sincere Thank You to all you most caring fellow DG pals for your kindness, information, concern, humor, recipes, and glorious inspiration, as well as shared plants and seeds through out the year. Love Patti
Pirl, Ha, I will take that title too, unless I run out of money. But now that I am writing garden articles for money, I have a bit more to spend on plants.
I talked to people in Nantucket this morning, just windy no real snow. Vt is gorgeous today. Patti
It sounds like you had a most well-deserved, lovely birthday, Patti of the Perpetual Purchases!! I really like that title best! :) That Mom of yours is a keeper! Enjoy your lovely Vermont setting! I miss New Hampshire in the snow. Going out to cover my tender plants for tonights 30s temps. :(
Yes - I like that one best too. Great one, pirl!
Just a take-off on Prairie Home Companion's Garrison Keillor but apropos. Patti and I both enjoy the show so much.
As you might recall, Pirl - I'm a big fan too! :) The very first d-mail you ever sent me was about Garrison's show.
You're right!
I think I enjoy listening to it the second time around, on Sunday at noon, even more because it gives me two hours of pleasant listening as I go about work around the house.
That is one show I can listen to more than once....like watching Seinfeld for the 40th time and laughing just the same. I don't like to see movies over and over as Hank can do, but there are a couple shows that I can repeat and hear things I missed the first time.
I can watch Catherine Zeta-Jones over and over. Not sure why.
VICTOR!
Entrapment?
LOL again, Debi!! You're on a roll tonight! :)
Too good! Louise, be thankful you're NOT in NH tonight!
Would love it!
And I'd love to be in Florida!
Oh, I AM, Marilyn! I have had hourly updates from my 101-year-old girlfriend. She is quite energized by it and loves keeping me informed. She is such a fun gal.
There's something in the NH water, I swear! Folks seem to live longer, & keep going mentally. But I will say my brother's MIL is still doing well....in her own house....at 104....she lives in Wilton, CT.
Wow! That's awesome! My friend still lives at home too.
