ID needed for this bloom..

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Can anyone identify this bloom?? I bought it as a Tahitian Taui. I have had 2 blooms on it as it is a young plant. I immediately put some pollen on it and it took (not sure if TT is a seed setter or not but thought that info might be helpful). The first photo I will post is a first day opening colors in December. The second bloom was a bit softer but still not the typical TT coloring. The plant is not growing very fast, don't know the growth habits of TT. It is very pretty whatever it is, but want to know the name of it as it is now carrying seeds from Space Oddity.

It is indoors in a south facing bright bright bright window with sun for a full 8 hours, and my house is in the mid 60's for temps.

Thanks for any help!
Kristen

Beautiful!! Could it be Blueberry Thrill or Swamp Music?

It looks like the photos of Tahitian Taui I googled. Is there a reason you think it's not?
(I'm not an expert of Hibiscus so I don't know all the fine points of a plant or bloom to look at)

I have Blueberry Thrill and it doesn't look like it to me.

Lake Side,

This is what Tahitian Taui should look like... The seller that sent it to me thinks it may be Gabriel, but I have that one also, and the two look nothing alike.

The trouble with a lot of the tropical hibiscus is that the flower colors vary depending on temperature and other climate variables so it can make them tricky to ID. My flowers look different when the plants bloom during cool weather vs hot weather, and they also frequently look different than someone growing the same cultivar in places like FL or TX. Winter colors often tend to be darker and richer than they are during warmer weather. Is your one that you know is Gabriel blooming now, or are you comparing these January blooms to what your Gabriel looked like during a different season? I would agree it's not Tahitian Taui since it should have a larger light border on the petals, but I wouldn't necessarily rule out Gabriel unless your other Gabriel is blooming now and you can make a direct comparison of the blooms. Swamp Music also looks like a good possibility, and it's another Cajun which would be fairly readily available.
