Beautiful .. looks like about 4-5 inches so far .. all it's doing here is sleeting. Ice is covering the tree branches and already some are falling from the weight.

It was simply beautiful here this morning with the snow falling gently which quickly turned to sleet, back to snow, back to sleet...you get the picture....kids were thrilled when they called of school for tomorrow also...

Wow! rednyr, is that snow or stars? Just gorgeous!

My babies love it too. We just hope it does not all freeze up now...

My yard is an ice flattened mess this morning. Went out yesterday afternoon with a broom and whacked ice off of loblobby bays, banana shrubs, young magnolias, and loquat trees that were on the verge of snapping. The fronds on my palms are splayed with ice deep down the crown shafts - will be treating them with daconil fungicide as soon as the ice goes away - very concerned about upcoming nights in mid teens and residual moisture . I'm thankful that we only lost power for 3 hours last night - my protected queen and date palms should be unfazed. I am so ready for spring!

This pic was taken early yesterday afternoon before the loquats required emergency snow and ice removal to prevent snapping.

LavinaMae, I can't do that cell phone camera thing either. My grandson (college student) takes photos at the family events and sends them to me email through his phone.

Donnacreation, I heard a gardening show that said to let Mother Nature take her course before deciding what to do with the ice-laden bushes. I am worried about a couple of the bigger shrubs..

We are not warming up either. At least not enough to melt it all in a day or two. I love it and it puts my husband in a better mood. But it would get old if we had it all the time, like they do up north.

We have enjoyed the birds.

Oops, that's the windchime, not the big cardinal. I will try again.

I tried it once when I first got my camera a few years ago and as I recall I emailed the photos to myself then copied them into the photos folders.

My husband knew that there was a reason not to get rid of the snow shovel when we moved here but he really did not expect to use it.

A visitor to our yard. No wonder our feral kitty is a wreck.

OK we have bears over here at Kennels Beach so he probably went to your house to visit. LOL Welcome to our world.

I did see a black bear on Trent Road and saw coyotes on Pamlico Rd not far from our home. When we first came (two weeks before Hurricane Isabel, lol) I would walk in late evening down our isolated road. Not any more!
