What are these called?

Quepos, Costa Rica

Im not sure what these plants are called in front of the purple ones, but they flowered a beautiful red lily like flower once and they have never come back in 2 years. Any ideas why?

They look like hippeastrum. They don't seem to flower regularly in warmer climates. Most of them need colder temperatures and a dormant period to initiate flowering.

Mumbai, India

they will bloom again, however, since they've been left in the earth, they will take some time to naturalise.
they seem to find their own rhythm.
mine bloom twice a year, when the weather gets a little cooler in winter, and even during the monsoons.

Hippeastum are tropical plants that bloom very irregularly, out of their natural habitat.

I've had them bloom three time a year to none.

Be patient and treat them well!

Over here they flower every dry season and are quite prolific. They are just finishing now. The orange ones are more prolific than the red though.
