OK, I noticed a lot of you on this forum are into chickens. I am trying to decide on a door in the hen house for the hens to use and have been pondering an automatic solar powered door controlled with a timer.
Just wondering if any of you have ventured down this path and what feedback you may have to offer?

I don't have a solar powered door but do have an electric one. It is the best money I ever spent. It didn't take very long for the birds to figure it out either.I have some large Brahmas and wasn't sure if they'd fit through the door but they use it no problem.No more worries either, If I sleep in or come home late or leave before dark I know they will be safe. Not sure how well the solar powered ones work. It was originally my first choice but my coop is pretty much in the shade most of the day. Hope this is some help, Good luck.
