Why large core in tomatoes?

If they weren't on the same plant, one of the plants could've been a different variety.

Could have been some kind of blight. If you ask on the tomato forum, you will probably get a better answer. Lots of experts over there.

Charlotte, NC(Zone 7b)

I don't know the answer, but I think some tomatoes are more prone to have a larger white core than others.
