I live right off the south side of a mountain, played there when i was a kid...i still fish there every year, and my wife & i walk up there 2 times a week... every day in the spring & summer. Its just a walk up the street. Sometime's we'd see a group of bird watchers. Never give it much thought...till now. Its called garret mountain reservation & rifle camp park. My wife sent me this link http://friendsofgarretmountain.blogspot.com/2010/03/bob-busha-trail-supervisor-garret.html last night i couldn't believe all the birds they see up there. I guess thats why im getting a lot of different birds at my feeders. I cant wait till spring, got to get a new camera... this old point n shoot has to go. Take a look at the bird list on the site.
Live somewhere all your life, and don't know what you have.
Thats a great list of birds! I hear a lot about it on the NJ Bird Listserv.
Wow...245 species...very impressive. Have you started your list yet?
I have a list of birds that i see in my yard... don't know what i'll get in the spring cant wait. I'll have a new camera by spring. Then i'll go on the mountain and hopefully get some pictures to add to my list. It's just not worth trying to get close enough with my junk camera. I'd rather just look with my bino's
