Ferndale, WA

Well Miss Jester, it's been a couple weeks and not even a peep from you. It would be nice to just know that you and Billy are alright. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze...Haystack.

Canyon Lake, TX(Zone 8b)

Cute pups you got there!

I got a 6 week old Jack Russell Dec 22 for a Christmas present. Watching pups grow up can be a lot of fun plus they make good companions.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

I'll give a hollar at FB..

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

She needs to git her hind end over here and update us on these dadburn pups! LOL

Alba, TX(Zone 8a)

CajuninKy, I've been meaning to ask you.......Not to hyjack the thread as I would like to see the puppy update, too. When you have a chance, of course. This is a busy time of year......

But Cajun, do you remember the dumped Catahoula Curr I adopted a couple of years ago? I remember your comments because it seemed that you were familiar with the breed. Well, I've contacted a local breeded who is pretty sure they bred this dog and are happy that I found her--a bit of a log story. But I wanted to ask if you've ever heard of a Catahoula pointing? My Pumpkin points. I walk alot with her at my house out in the pasture. So far I've noticed her pointing at Meadowlarks, but I thought I was imagining this. Now she is definitely pointing at voles under the ground. The Corgis and picked up on this and now will try to dig them (the voles) up to kill them. Have you ever heard of a pointing Catahoula? I don't have much contact with Catahoula people so I thought I'd take a chance to ask........

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I can truthfully say I have never heard of such. Have never read it anywhere either. By nature they are an assertive breed so it's odd she will stand and point rather than "attack". That is interesting. Do you have any recent pictures of her.

Alba, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm trying to catch her in "point" and when I have the camera. The local breeder with whom I spoke said he thought they might have bred her and sold her as a pup. Said she looked like "one of mine". He said he bred for hunting small game (squirrels, birds, etc.) and for working with cattle. Not for hog-dogs. Said that's not what the breed was originally for--his words not mine. I honestly don't know that much about Catahoulas. I saw a couple of his females and their general body-type fit right in with Pumpkin's. Then I lost touch with him. The economy has been fairly tight in the area, so maybe he went back to LA. She's definitely not aggressive. In fact, she would best be described as goofy and laid back. Gets along really well with the Corgi's and the Shepard mix. Is very sweet to the old Kelsie-Heeler we have. She's taken very well to training. We consider her to have been a happy find. She come's to work with me and the Corgis.

texasrockgarden, Jack Russells are so cute! How fun to have puppies are Christmas time.

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

I love the pups! Billy looks so happy. I can't wait to see what they look like as they grow up. A Mastiff/heeler mix will be an interesting combination. I want something mixed with Mastiff to have here with us as well.. so definitely interested to see how they are when they grow up. Hope you both are doing well.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

The CC was bred as a hunting and herding dog and not limited to small game hunting. They are tenacious and make excellent hog dogs. I don't know where he got that from. One of the best hog dogs is a CC, pit bull cross. They make excellent cattle dogs too.

(Zone 5b)

Just bumping this up because I'm getting impatient for recent pics (and a story!) of Billy and the pups!

Ferndale, WA

Maybe there are no more stories commin. I'm really feeling deserted...Hope I'm wrong on this...Hay

(Zone 5b)

I'm sure there are a bunch of stories, they're just too busy living them right now!

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

She changed her profile pic on FB to some pups. I wonder if it's these pups. I'm going to ask her on FB.

Richmond, TX

Tell her we miss her here!

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I told her. She is trying to find homes for the pups. They are getting big.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

She will be back, I'm sure.. She went through a terrible week at work.. Along with a lot of problems at the ranch.. Poor thing, has been through the ringer recently. Hang in there!!

(Zone 5b)

Gosh, so sorry to hear she has been through the ringer lately. I sure hope life gets better fast and will keep her in my thoughts.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Ditto what Annie said. Seems lots of us have been through the ringer lately. Not good
