I spotted this in the trees across from my house early this evening, due to the fading light I had to adjust the photos to get any detail out of them. I am thinking it's a Coopers Hawk but I was hoping for some more expert confirmation. Thank you in advance.

Too short-tailed for a Cooper's, I'm thinking immature Red-shouldered Hawk.

Thank you both. He seems to have taken up residence here now, I've seen him everyday up in the trees and actually I was inadvertently a couple of meters from him early today when he turned around, saw me and flew off to another tree. Here's a couple more shots of him.
