Seed Starting

Grandview, TX(Zone 8a)

What seeds are y'all starting this year? I have a HUGE list of seeds I'm starting in the next month or so. Hopefully many will be ready for the spring RU. Here's a few of what I'm starting...

Cleome 'Violet Queen'
Jacaranda Mimosifolia
Lavendula stoechas
Vigna cracalla
Tacoma Stans 'Orange bells'
Dietes biclor
Dietes vegeta
Arum italicum
Francoa sanchifolia
Phygelius 'Snow Queen'
Latherus vernus
Knipophia hybrid
Lavendula verdis
Salvia sclaria 'Vatican White'
South African Foxglove
Agastache**surprise mix**
White Balloon Flower
Cleome NOID Purple
Zinnia 'Green Envy'
Salvia coccinea, Snow Nymph

There are many many more too.
I spent the afternoon today making newspaper pots and labels for them. I can't wait to get them started and see them all in bloom. BTW There will be plenty to share as well :)

I've ordered some seeds from Trade Winds but haven't gotten them yet (and can't find the list :) but I'll post later as I think I'll have some to share, also. Do you use a "store-bought" paper pot maker or do you have a DIY solution? Those little gizmos seem kinda pricey online. Somewhere I read a reference to making your own pots using a dowel. Sound familiar?

Thanks, J! Good lead -- I was about to order a "pot maker"

I am glad I could help. It looks really easy.

The newspaper pots I make are the square ones. I think they hold up better than the round ones. Just my opinion :)

These work real well for me.
