I am going to be a foster mom!

Delray Beach, FL(Zone 10b)

I had posted about the loss of my beloved 16 year old Westie, Tiffany in July and my quest to adopt another Westie.

I am getting to know people in a local rescue group. I agreed to foster a small dog. They have a six year old slightly overweight pug with skin problems. I don't have any pictures, yet. He is headed to the vet and should be here early in 2001. My major concern is that I will become so attached to him that I won't want to give him up!

After having a Westie, I understand taking care of a little dog with sensitive skin. I don't mind cooking special foods and feeding vitamin supplements. I fed Tiffany about half specially cooked food, half quality grain free dry pet food. I also gave her a doggie vitamin and various supplements stirred into the cooked food.

It will be fun to have a new fur friend to walk with and knit for. I designed and knit sweaters for Tiffany. I have designed hand knit patterns for several companies and am working on self publishing some designs. (I don't typically make things for sale on commission. I use high quality yarn and value my time. I can't compete with the prices of mass produced things from China in Walmart - the yarn I use costs more wholesale than the finished items for sale).
