Did anyone get any gardening-related Christmas presents this year? I didn't since everyone seemed to use my Lee Valley wish list for birthday presents this year... :)
But I did get some fun outdoor gifts: a nice bird feeder and a keypad-based remote garage opener (so I can open the door with a PIN code instead of having to run all the way around to the front of the house to get in if the door is closed!)
Christmas presents?
We got a leaf blower, which we will put to good use.
well I didn't get any for Christmas per se... a friend of mine knows Matt Turner in Austin who wrote the book called Remarkable Plants of Texas & my friend had Matt send me the book. What is really funny is that my friend is from Canada ( as I am) & when I was visiting Canada/my friend he mentioned Matt. I didn't know about this book & Tom ( friend) visits Austin every Feb!!! I thought it was kind of funny!!
I haven't read it yet as I want to take time to really look at it.... it's a large book if you don't know of it. ( So I re'cd this book a few weeks before Christmas! hahaha).
i got a tree wrap thingy that someone on dave's showed --wraps around the trunk and holds pots
I have that book, it is very nice.
dfwdennis, I can reaalllyyy get in $$ trouble with Lee Valley; btw free shipping now til 1/3/11 :)
I got a leaf blower/vac that shreds like a champ!! The blower's more of a 'problem' for me as I seem to just move the leaves from one place to another -- all over the place. Wish I had a nice corner to aim them into...
We haven't tried ours yet, the leaves got wet, but it is also a vac/shredder, maybe this weekend.
My Christmas gift was a white Christmas, from Rochelle, Ill to London, and Murray, Ky. Our traditions as we turn adults are to focus the spirit of the season on the younger children. My family and I have more fun doing this, and buy what we want/need as money allows. Was sad to see the ice damages from last years ice storms across the Western Kentucky Parkway...
