Christmas puppy???

Medina, OH

Old dog, new tricks...? One would think I should know better, BUT, not so! Last night hubby called my attention to an ad in the paper. The local pound was looking for a home for a 1 1/2 year old female Plott Hound. Our own Plott is just the perfect dog for us. He isn't at all hound-like, stays at home without being tied, comes when he is called and just loves us to bits, and we naturally return the favor. Our Amos is black with brown brindling and the pup at the pound is brown with black brindling. Cute? Sure! However, I am thinking that she IS a hound and will probably delight in chasing scent all through the woods. It is her right, after all. Am afraid that she might teach Amos some bad tricks. On the other hand, I can't dismiss her without meeting her, can I? I know she would have to be walked on leash for a few weeks before we give her her freedom and then only if Amos is on the leash. 0 windchill shouldn't matter,,,should it?

Bottom line, we are going to see her tomorrow at the pound. Any advice or comments? Thanx and Merry Christmas! Susan
