Can't remember the name of unusual color birds that used to show up in Montana in early winter. Large flock, stayed only a day or so. About size of large robin, black but with bright colors of yellow, white and orange. Wings striped -- looked as if they'd been dipped in paint. Have no photo and googling fails. Can you identify? Thanks!
Montana, robin size bird, black/yellow/white/orange
Try Yellow-headed Blackbird
Resin
Thanks, Resin, but that's not it. These have two color stripes on wings. (Can't recall--maybe orange and yellow, or white and yellow? Hope someone will recognize those beauties.
Maybe Red-winged Blackbirds...
