What on earth is this? Thumbed through my whole bird book and could not figure it out. It was out in the Katy Prairie area on a softball field near a wetland area.

OMG! That is so cool! Thank you, thank you! Wish I could have gotten a better pic. Almost all my pics today were horrible because the wind was blowing so hard that I could hardly keep my own balance let alone hold the camera steady. Still, totally exciting! Thanks gain.
Looks like I need to take a field trip to Katy soon!!!
If you have snow covering the field's where you live...there will be Horned Lark's along the side's of the roads...right now I see them in small groups.
