The white throat and just a touch of white above the beak along with the tail barring looks like an immature Swainson's to me. I don't often see these birds, though.

Red-tailed, immature; matches the "Light juvenile" in Sibley very well.

Swainson's has longer wings (extending beyond tail tip) and the breast band is on the upper breast, not lower as here; it would also be in South America at this time of year ;-)

Resin, I think you are correct. That characteristic belly-band that most people use to identify a RT is absent on the RT's I see daily. They all have an almost white bottom appearance. Lot's of variation in RT's.
