Bulb Meadow Plans

Looking for species list, or better yet, plans for a bulb meadow. This is a zone 5 site with soil pH 7, clay loam. The site is 19,600 sq. ft. About 50% of the total area will be planted, under and around ornamental trees. At present the entire site is bare, just grass. All the trees (11) go in next spring and summer. Bulbs in the fall, of course. The meadow will be mowed but left somewhat rough, after the bulb foliage has ripened.

This isn't really what you're asking for. But the prettiest bulb meadow I've ever seen pictures of was Tasha Tudors.

I cannot find a pic on the internet, which surprises me, but in the book about her garden, there are some lovely pictures. Daffs and forget me nots play a big role. I know Ms Tudor said she used a scythe in the meadow, in the spring, and then had it mowed after bloom.

Well, That IS amazing. I so glad you shared this before I dug the first hole. It changes some of my perceptions and plans. Very much for the better I might add. Luckily, I have all winter to plan and order. I'll definitely need any kind of quantity cost break offered, so Brent & Becky's will be a source ( they were anyway). I ordered the book.

I kept looking for pictures of the meadow. I can't believe they weren't posted, anywhere. Then i read that Ms. Tudor did not allow people to photograph her gardens. Guess that explains it.
