Never send a man....:)

I mean no offense to our male fellow chicken addicts, but I found this really funny. I had gotten a rooster among a recent purchase of "hens". He didn't bother me, but my SO has been complaining for a long time that there are just too many roos. There are, but I'm attached to them. The problem got worse when more than half of my hens were murdered, but the roos survived (all but one).
Anyway, he wanted to take the roo to an auction with a friend (who was selling his excess roosters), and said we could look at all the critters.
I knew better. There is no way I can go to one of those things, I'd be renting a tractor trailer to haul home all the poor things I felt needed me.
So, he went off with the rooster, and the promise to bring back some "cool" hens.
10:00, I saw him get dropped off. Didn't look as if he had brought a crate home. I was actually relieved, as my quarantine area is full, except one spot.
Wrong. There was a crate. Not very heavy, but completely full of feathers.
Of course, he came home with a rooster. A big one. Of the Cochin persuasion, I'd guess, but probably a mix. I'm not even sure of the color (gold head and back, blue underpinnings, blue wheaten?) but I'll get a picture, and post, asap.
I have told him he is never again to complain that there are too many roosters. It is now HIS fault *G*
Just goes to show you that he really is a softy. The auctioneer called him (the roo) "one H#$$ of a chicken dinner".
Yes, I would have bought him, too, but don't ever tell him that...

LOL - my DH is like that too. He was really adamant that my daughter not get a kitten, but my Mom wanted one. He lets that cat crawl all over him....

ROTFLMBO: Don't worry about offense, if the guy's can't stand the heat they can leave the kitchen. I think both stories are very funny...My wife tells me I'm one of a few men who admit to being a softie, and exposing my very feminine side...As my dear friend ZZs says it is what it is...LOL...Hay

*G*. Well, my research has led me to conclude he's closest to a Lemon Blue. And he's really big. He's much bigger than my "normal" Standard roos. So, guess I can't complain.
Much:)

tamberlin, my camera is being uncooperative, but I'm working on it. Realized I have a Lemon Blue hen, but she's (mostly, at least) Ameracauna. Good thing I like the mutts:)

Mutt eggs taste just as good.

And my cartons are SO pretty, with all the different colors and sizes:)
