It is a Queen butterfly, aren't they beautiful?

It is! It was all over the basil in my backyard this afternoon!

They have been very abundant this fall along with the Monarchs.

We do too. They look like leaves falling in the wind when they fly.
I also saw Monarchs laying eggs the last two days! Don't they know a freeze is coming?

Sheila, they know you'll go out and rescue them and raise them inside where it won't freeze. :)

Not! LOL! I never have good luck with eggs I bring inside and it would break my heart if they made it and when they were ready to be released it was too cold here for them to fly south. It may be the female dumped the eggs to have more energy to go south ahead of the cold front. Then weather men are wrong a lot!
