ANYONE AWAKE YET?
I know this has been hashed around but once and for all please help. In zone 6 can I leave my friends datura m. outside for the winter? We are a stones throw away from NY.
I have plastic, mulch and hay. Should I trim it to bear bones? I just can't get it out of the ground. WEAKLING!
I'm ready to put my best blanket around it if need be LOL
I know to take some trimmings inside but what is the OFFICIAL concensus here.
Thanks for you help
Have a bloomin good day

I'm up north of Syracuse NY ,mine made it through last winter but there was lots of snow for insulation.I don't think its a sure bet it will make it ,but I would leave it in the groung, mulch heavy, and hope for the best.Hey,if it doesent make it,they are so easy to start from seed ,start another one in early spring.Just in case!!! But your winters are pretty mild down there so I'd go for it.CC
Bless your heart. I'm off to do my thing for my friend. I've never seen anyone so thrilled about this plant. I gave her a brug for next year I can't wait to see her face when that one blooms.

Oh NO!!You've created another addict!!!
Oh yes, she certainly is. Yesterday I took the plunge and cut her datura. I thought she would scream. I gave it some hay and black cloth than a bag of mulch. Got over 50 seed balls off of it. I will be offering them soon so there will be even more of us.
Now if we can only do as well with Brug's I'd be a real happy puppy.
