I stopped in today and discovered they're selling the business.
Green Mama's in NRH is for sale
Oh my, they were a good sized operation and had lots of natives too.
OH NO! I hope that the new owners love natives too.
They are still open, just for sale. My nosey curiosity got the better of me, so I looked up the listing when I got home. It looks like they are willing to sell the building only (at which point who knows what it will be) or the business as a turnkey operation. I hope someone is willing to take on the business and keep the nursery going.
Oh! that is so sad, things have not been good for the plant business or any business for that matter,
it is very sad to see familiar places disappear.
I only learned yesterday that "Petal Pushers" has closed. It was King's Nursery for many years and the employees purchased it. The land all around it has been commercially developed and I am only guessing that they got an offer they couldn't refuse.
That could be the case, I hope so at least.
I loved King's Creek/Petal Pushers nursery. Unfortunately, the economy was the main culprit that did them in. They also had some extensive damage/loss of stock, etc., when this past winter they had a couple of their greenhouses collapse with the heavy snow. Great people and it was very sad to see it go. I bought a bunch of their tables to use at my "farm" so I get to see a little bit of the place everyday. I sure hope Green Mama's stays both Green and native.

Me to Dale, it is so sad to see people go out of business, especially when they were providing a great service to the community.
One of the oldest and best organic nurserys in DFW. Sad
