What are Brugs?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I am a new gardener and I've been reading this thread. I tried to look this up, but can't find it. Is this a nickname or something? They seem to be very popular and I would love to try some if only I knew what they looked like and if they were hardy here. I am of the species that once I decide to do something, I need at least one of everything! LOL Can someone steer me to some information?
Thanks, and I have to be out of town on business until Thursday, so I'll check back then.

go to the menu on the right and click on plants. then type in brugmansia and be prepared to be hooked. Tons of pictures in another forum "Brug and Datura contest"

Thanks tiG, (I think!) LOL Maybe I should be vaccinated or something before going to look, but I'm going to anyway.

hi JoanJ,

welcome! i am also new here. brugs is short for the plant brugmansia. here is a url to help u know more about the plant. http://home.att.net/~perennials/menu.html
hope that helps u.

i was first introduced to the brug plant early part of this year by a friend. the plant was a rooted cutting. i nursed & nurtured that one brug, hoping it will bloom for me. the cutting has grown to nearly 4' tall but no blooms yet. i read people saying they cut the brug on this site, but new to this kind of plant, i really do not know what to do.

good luck... ma vie rose
