The Little Lady wanted red colored mulch so I got a couple bags. I was using it for the flower beds next to the house and used cedar instead, for bug reasons. I was wondering if I could use it in the vegetable garden or should I wait til I can use it away from the house.
Thanks

I seem to remember reading somewhere that one should not use dyed mulch in a veggie garden, but I could be wrong.
I have found the best mulch to be fall leaves that have been run through the mower enough times that the pieces are about the size of my smallest finger nail. The advantage is that they hold water well, let rain water through, break down into rich black dirt, and best of all, NO WEED SEEDS!
I have been raking tree litter to use in the garden. I got this red mulch last spring and it is breaking down. Just wanted to use it before it turns to mush. I do like if for the small plants in the yard as it stands out and I remember not to mow them. I just don't have that many yet.
I'll just save it for the yard.
Thanks
