Tropical Hibiscus has White Powder on the underside of leavs

Several of my Tropical Hibiscus Plants has white powder like substance on the underside of all the leaves. Whats a mother to do ? Need some good sound advice ASAP.

Could you take some pictures? Sounds like it might be the beginnings of mealy bugs.

Hi Georgia Girl: I can not take any pictures my camera is broken. I was going to try using alchol to clean off the back aide of the leaves. I do hope this does the trick.

Hi Smurf: Your picture is exactly with what is on the back of my leaves. What is the best way of geting rid of this problem. Will it spread to other types of surronding plants ? Any help will be appreciated. Jake

I had whiteflies during the summer and sprayed until I got tired.
After I hosed down the plant a several times, everything was back to normal.
If it's too cold outside, try the bathtub when no one is looking.
