Hello all!
Do any of you know where I could get Seeds or Softwood Cuttings of (or even buy a small established) American smoke tree (Cotinus obovatus)? All the better if you know someplace around DFW that might have what I'm looking for.

I have seen them at Petal Pushers in Cedar Hill. I always drool over them when I go there, but I don't have a spot for one.
Dennis, Petal Pushers is now out of business, very sad.
Oh, no. I'm sorry to hear that. They had an excellent selection of unusual native trees and shrubs.
I went by the nursery that Josephine posted a link for, Repotted, and they had four American Smoketrees in stock.
Alright Dennis, you are one heck of a nice guy. How did you like the place? and did you mention Daves garden?
Darn, I didn't mention Daves Garden.
She told me that I came on a bad day, since last weekend was really busy and a lot of things were sold out. But there was still some really nice native stuff there, like the smoketree and prairie flameleaf sumac, as well as organic supplies. They also had bulbs from the Southern Bulb Company, hand delivered by the bulb hunter himself. :)
I'm looking forward to going back sometime when they are fully stocked.
That sounds really nice, she seems like a very nice person, I hope her store does well.
We need more native plant nurseries for sure.

I have a small one that Mitch gave me before he left, it hasn't grown much but it looks nice.
I got down to Repotted today. I couldn't get the smoke tree because I had a sofa and love seat in the back of the truck and couldn't find room for it (a first for me -- I usually always find room for a plant or two). However, it's a cute little shop and I will visit again. It also happens to be about a block from Bolsa, which I've been wanting to try for a while... so win all around really!
