Hello everyone. I read somewhere that bulbs are not allowed to be stored with fruits for winter cold storage. I've got 2 fridges but one of them get way to cold to the point of freezing potatoes and the other one is where the citrus are store at least in one of the drawers. The other drawer is empty and it's where I just stored my tulips bulbs. If it's not ok I can always take them to my aunt's. Any help will be appreciated.
Can tulip bulbs be store next to citrus?
I "think" you should be ok with storing them in the same fridge as citrus. It's apples you need to be concerned with since apple seeds have traces of cyanide in them that can thwart blooming bulbs.
No fruit in the refrigerator with bulbs. Fruit produces ethylene gas that will effect the flowerbud that is already in the bulb.
Right on Bert!
By the way, the alliums were really niced sized.
I'll be posting photos next year!
