It was a beautiful morning this am, I had my coffee outside while I was tending to all the critters. Horses fed and watered, juvenile chickens fed and treated, pulled a nice chocolate egg out of the marains pen, one roo and 2 starting to lay and one juvenile (put in there the other day) Little Black. She ate out of my hand and then I noticed the egg on the ground...
As I went from pen to pen treating, I talked to them. I had separated the juveniles the other day to make more room the other day. I put the buffs all in one pen, moved the marain and moved a black americaunia in with Buffy,Polka Dot and Big Black and Whity. She is adjusting well.
Then I heard the unmistakable sound of a new roo trying to crow... I ran back to Banana Row to see the beautiful Welshimer (SP?) that I had bought as a hen sitting up trying to crow... He is in a pen with another white leg horn... Ohhh the heart break. I already have a welshimer roo he is a big boy up with his girls and some other... I got rid of the extra roo last week and was thinking I was on easy street with my Roo to hen ratio and had all the breeds pretty much separated with extra's in there for company..

don't you just hate when that happens. I was really heart broken when Tina Turner started crowing. She/he was a very late bloomer
As a Rooster I'm really starting to get a complex...I know the feeling, every time I start to crow my poor wife just begins to shake her head. Trust me I can read her mind (hmmm Just one roo to many)...LOL. Hay

Rita, I do have 2 hen Welsummers up with the old guy...LOL someone came by and said he does not look like one, so Now I am confused... SO tomorrow we will take the camera out and let you all decide...
ZZ remember Buffy and how I wished him a her?? well we all know what happened there. BTW Buffy has a harem in his pen, I think he is happy..

Thank you Donna. Billy is a spitting image of my son his Uncle Bo. Alot of people mistake Billy for my son and I have stop correcting them its not worth the hassle of the story. Besides he is my Grandson, so if you drop the grand it makes him my son.

Me too I love the pictures of me and my nanny, you know my name is Billy Bob and I am making Nanny type it. I love you Mr Haystack. My brother got baptized today at his church, the preacher man put him in a pool and got him a bunch of wet. It did not have no sharks or fish in there. My Nanny said I was good at church today then she took me to Cracker Barrel and I got pancakes and oranges. When I grow up I want to be baptized like my brother in a big giant pool too but I want fishes in there.
