Ok, I have lots of those 1 gallon grow bags and 5 gallon growbags also. I was thinking of perhaps getting some T-5 lighting, a plastic wading pool, and ta da, my tomato plants could be self watering real quick that way, as I would set them in the wading pool, under the T-5 lights. Later on, when Spring gets here, I could move the wading pool outdoors, fill it with a fertlizer/water solution, leave the 5 gallon bags in the wading pool, maybe drill a hole big enough that the water would only get so high and the 5 gallon bags would be self watering that way. I could rig up a self staking system around the wading pool. Think that might work? And what kind of fertilizer could I use for tomatoes that would go into the wading pool ya think?

I hope this brainstorm of an idea works!
Joy-you may want to look up waterbed gardening. It works something like that, I think. Will this system be setup in your living room?

No, I'm thinking possibly the master bathroom actually, as it's tiled floored, and the T-5 lights would have room then to be hung in there as it's a huge room all in itself. I like the idea of bottom watering and when I bury the stem with my tomatoes, the roots are close to the bottom of the grow bags anyways, so, they would definately get enough water that way, and when the pool is outside I could then have the automatic drainage of water through a drainhole I drill in the side of the pool, right about where I want it not to get any higher than.

OK the masterbath, much better then the living room. Good luck
