***CLOSED CLOSED CLOSED***
For any brug newbies out there...I have cut back my brugs and am willing to share cuttings with the first 5 or 6 people who post on this thread. I'm going to be moving in the next few weeks, so would prefer postage instead of trade. I have several different ones, all named. Some doubles. Some large cuttings and some smaller. If interested, please post on the thread. Will take the first 6 people who post. I figure postage will be around $5. I will send them Priority.
Postage can be sent by Paypal or snail mail, but you would need to mail quick. I want these gone before moving.

CLOSED: Named Brug cuttings for postage
I'm a newbie to brugs and am interested.
Hi Deebie, you are #1. :-) Dmail me your shipping address and if you want to paypal or mail postage.
I'm interested in getting Brugs. I don't have any and I'm hoping to start some cuttings. I can send Paypal postage.
Please dmail me your address Roly0217
I dmailed you Cathy
Me please! One of my new friends in Austin was explaining how wonderful they are. What do I need to send you? :)
Ok that's 4. Enough cuttings left for 2 more people.
I would love some, too. Thanks for offering them!!!!
Judy
I have never grown a brug in my life, and would love to try, if you can do one more.
Thanks Cathy!
Am I too late?
Ok everyone. If you haven't dmail me your shipping address. And I am closing this offer.
Did anyone get their cuttings???
Judy
I wouldn't be concerned. I've traded with Cathy a few times, always excellent.
I d-mailed her to see if she received my money but haven't heard back yet. As far as her sending them, I am not concerned like pollyk. Her word is good and she is a sweetie. I am sure she is tied up right now with the BIG job of moving and everything that goes along with it lol.
Yes I have been neck deep in moving! Cuttings are all ready and going in todays mail. I will take them to the post office during lunch. Sorry, I really planned on getting them out a week ago.
No internet service at the new place until the 18th but I can check from work till then.
DH and I have decided we are much too old for this moving stuff!!! LOL What a nightmare!
Thanks, Cathy, and best wishes on your new home. BTW, are you moving to another state?
Ditto here. Best wishes.
No just another town. It's only about 20 miles form where I am now. Thanks guys. And thanks for being patient! :-)
Thank you for sharing your cuttings amidst all that's going on.
Cathy, my cuttings arrived on Saturday, and I am very happy with the selections. Thank you! I can't wait to get them planted. Thanks too for packing them with such loving care and for sending 2 of each in case one doesn't make it. It was well worth the wait.
Deborah
From dmails it sounds like the cuttings have all made it to their new homes. Due to mailing a week or so later than I had planned, most of them had roots started alreadty. If they had roots or little nubbies (white looking bumbs), you can just plant them in a 6 or 8 inch pot with well draining potting soil. I just use Miracle Grow. Water sparingly. More die from too much water than not enough.
If some of them don't have roots yet, you can put them in water with a dash of peroxide, or put them in potting soil. The usually root pretty easily. Some take longer than others.
What I do to overwinter, (for rooted plants) is put mine in a dark corner of a spare room. Leave them in their pots if you have the room. And give them just a little water once a month or so. Maybe half a cup. They will go "dormant". The room can't get below 45 - 50 degrees though. These plants can't take freezing temps. A basement would work, or a garage if it doesn't get too cold.
Then early spring, maybe March for this area, I slowly start watering mine a little more, then move them to a window so they get a little indirect light. They will wake up and start growing again. By then they will also need to be "potted up" to a larger sized pot. The ones I am keeping are in 10 gallon pots, but that's for mature plants. Then when it warms up at night, they can be moved outside to a semi shaded area, to get used to brighter light. You can also plant them in the ground after temps stay above 45 at night. If you get them started waking up early enough, you will have blooms this coming year. American Dream took 2 years to bloom for me, but the rest all did the first year.
I am by no stretch of the imagination an expert at this, but this has worked for me for 3 years. The Brugmansia forum in DG has a world of information from people who have raised these for years, so I encourage everyone to browse it.
Good luck everyone. If you haven't had one of these before, the aroma of your first bloom stays with you forever!! They are alot of trouble but so worth it!
Cathy - we have the slowest PO in the history of the US.
I did receive them today. Yay! Thank you for selection!!! :D

Thank you so much for the wonderful cuttings, and for the instuctions!
Thanks again Cathy !!! I can't wait for the day I get to smell the blooms. Are these night bloomers?? I think that I read somewhere that they open from sundown until the sun hits them in the morning. These could be the start of my fragrant moon garden. Now to find that Yesterday-Today and Tomorrow.
Cathy, thanks so much for posting the wealth of info. I sure needed it!!! Wow Roly, I have never had one before and assumed they bloomed during the day. It would be cool to have a moon garden if they bloom of an evening. Can't wait till spring :)
Connie
I looked up the varieties. I can't believe the beautiful cuttings Cathy sent. I didn't realize there were two in most of the wrappers.
What an incredible offer this was!
Thank you so much, Cathy!
Connie I'm not sure if they bloom at night because I've never have one but I think that I read somewhere that they do. Let's have Cathy verify or someone with experience growing these beauties.
I put the cuttings in my Dads window and they are already starting to get new growth. I have to check them today because we've been without power and it got down to 30.3 in the living room before the power came back on. My Dad's room was a bit warmer though.
Brugs bloom all times of day but will close up some during the day, if it is hot. They are much more fragrant later in the day.
