Boss crow

This big guy sits in the top of this pine tree and calls out every day. Usually, when he does this, other crows show up. Boy do we have a lot of crows!

Actually, I have three crows that sit in the trees around my home all day and they really protect my little birds from all the raptors that fly past us. These birds are very smart and if one of my feeders needs to be refilled, they'll sit on the feeder box and caw at me until I come out.

Saw some crows chasing a hawk a couple of days ago. I only had my normal lens on my camera that day but after cropping all the trees and sky out it came out half decent.

That's actually a pretty good shot. It also helps me to see what these birds look like from the underside. (I know that sounds strange, but it was actually something I needed to see.)
