Huge Blooms!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

This brug has all the characteristic of 'Super Nova' only it's not milky white like S. Nova. The beauty is pink!

I just wanted to know how big the bloom is from stem to tip of the corolla;

The base of the flower. This is its 3rd or 4th flush for the season. The beauty is in container which I'll take it indoor for winter protection.

Here is an average blooms of most brugs. This is 'Green Bank';

Green Bank's bloom is roughly 10" versus the above 'Pink S.N.' (not an official name) of 16".

'Green Bank' blooms is comparable to these 'Eternity' blooms in size.

I've lost the tag to this particular gorgeous brug. I thought it was a double pink brug which was shared by a friend from Tenn. But, this is single blooming brug. Do double brugs reverse to single- blooming flowers? Your thought?

Very lovely Kim! I do so adore big blooms. I do not know if they revert....

Thank Kim, it's awesome! I don't recall having these blooms last year or any other year.

Is the one in your first photo the result of a cross with Super Nova? One thing I like about Brug flowers is that they come in all sizes. What was the fragrance like?

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Veronica,

No, as far as I recollect; the pot was home to one of my cuttings that was given to me by a friend. A double-blooming brug possibly. The brug is still outdoor. Being out on the open, I barely notice its fragrance...

Hi Kim ...what a beautiful brug.
A double brug can throw the odd single bloom.

(((((((Chrissy)))))))) hello my friend. I've missed you. Thanks, I was pretty sure that was a double-blooming brug. I'll keep monitoring it from here on out. How is Sydney these days?

Oh here is a pix of DH (partial pix of DH) holding on to the huge blooms;

Is there any way to speed up the "Y" ing? Sue

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Other than keeping them fed, the answer is no.
