Bantam Black Mottled Houdan DH named this one Spike if it is a roo
Donna's Baby Poultry Grow-Up Album
my only surviving Delaware out of 3 that hatched. 3 more pipped but didn't hatch out. looks rooish to me. He is soft as a cotton ball. He follows me everywhere. pokes his head through the cage trying to get to me or jumps out of cage before I can even get the door all the way open. I have never seen such a friendly chicken
LOL I think I have to many chicks. I have my Silkies setting some white Silkie eggs I got off e-bay last week. Sure hope they are pet quality. It looked like they would be. 2 of my Araucana hens are broody. I have one sitting 2 eggs from the new tufted ones I got. They are finally getting over the shipping stress. Will give the other hen eggs too if they lay more
They are all so wonderful, especially those first two.
I love the Houdans and the Araucana rumpless. Oh my!
Maybe some day when I get my new chicken barn, you will sell me some eggs ??? SOME DAY, but not today. :((
I got some with tufts now from MA. I am worming them and then will start intergrating them together. I made a post and put their pics the other day
I would be happy to LFJ
Those are some beautiful chicks! I like Dudley and Peppy especially. But then I've always wanted Delawares too...
Beautiful birds Donna, I have to agree with Porkpal, Peppy is especially handsome, I love his colors. Dudley is also very pretty, I really like spike and murfett, they make me smile. Great pictures...Hay
anyone care to give me a guess at the sexes of these chicks??? especially the Silkies. I need some hens bad. 3 roo's and 3 hens was really wearing the poor hens down. They are both broody now sitting on some white eggs I bought and giving the roo's their back. They won't even look at them lol
ZZ needs to speak up; she's the best at gender assignments. To me they are all just charming chicks.
Oh gosh, now the pressure is on... LOL Here goes..
Silkie #1 pullet #2 Roo The others I can't tell at all.. I'm sorry.. Usually if I can see them at about 4 or 5 days old.. and a side view that shows head and tail.. that is when I can guess the best.. Especially if they are all together and the same age.
I am no good with silkies.. There are only a few of the more "standard" breeds that I can guess.
The Delaware looks to be a roo.
D'Uccle #1 looks pullet... so cute!!
I can tell that they would have been a little more obvious had I been able to see them earlier.. I'd like to just sit in the middle of all of em! So cute! It won't be long and you will start to see more.. Congrats on a beautiful flock of babiez.
You have some really nice birds there Donna!
What do you think about my Araucana boys I hatched from DaddyRoo(white) & Blackie(black)??? Flame has become a little man now
I am in awe with his coloring. I might better hatch out some more of their eggs before they are gone. I have DaddyRoo and Blue sold since I got mostly white/splash tufted birds and the blue/gray tufted one. I am keeping Blackie tough

In the first pic.. My guess about the crested ones are.. Far left is the pullet.. on the right to that is the roo...
You know I'm bad with silkies.. but that is a roo wing..:( 3rd from the left.. Remember, if it's a sweetie and comes to you, don't fall for it!! LOL Focus on the girls that want nothing to do with you. ;)
The others are so mixed up it's hard to tell.
The picture of your roo made me say OHHH OHHH outloud before I even enlarged it! I love Flame and Frost.. wow.. Love the color, but the conformation is great! They are a perfect jellybean shape! LOL
Really Great Chicks Donna! I cannot say that I like a certain one.. Im a Chicken Nut.. I love 'em all! that Delaware is so pretty though!
I feel the same way ZZ . So sad they don't have tufts. I am going to breed them to my new tufted white/splash ones. Sure hope they throw the red their daddy gave them. I know it is from him. The black is from the mom because the blue/lavendar chick I got out of DaddyRoo and Blue is lavendar body with both the red and frost markings. I am thinking I should be kicking myself for selling him. I would probably get some great splashs or AOV from him with the new tufted white girls. I may ask the lady to wait a month or so I can breed him first. They get their last day of Ivermectin today so I can start intergrating them now they they will be completely wormed
Thank you Eufala I love them all too
Jellybean shape.
Lovely, Donna! Ya know, I have always thought you as a duckmother, too but now I think you are a Mother Hen. LOL
