Whaddya say 6 - What would you choose...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

...for your final meal???

Imagine you're on death row and you can have your final meal. What would it be???

Remember that Snickers commercial - where the guard falls asleep waiting for him to finish?

Anyway - I think my main course would be pot roast. Always LOVED it. My mom would always make it for me. First course would be a nice salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Then some pasta. Dessert would the toughest choice!! Lemon meringue? Apple pie? Key Lime pie? Chocolate mousse? Maybe all of them so I can puke on the executioner! Hee hee.

So what's your 'To die for' meal?

Salad, prime rib with baked stuffed shrimp on the side, corn on the cob, a loaded baked potato, and either strawberry shortcake , ice crean sunday or blueberry dumplings.

Hubby and I have discussed this before....
Mine too is pot roast LOVE it, (in fact that's what we had for dinner)
Appetizer is tough.....something seafood I think, clams casino or steamed oysters...or maybe even stuffed mushrooms
Pot roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, peas and corn on the cob, dinner rolls, strawberry shortcake with chocolate ice cream on the side and coffee

Hubby's last meal is hot dogs

I'll have what Meg Ryan (Sally) was hinting at in "When Harry met Sally".

If that's not possible some Maine blueberry pancakes, two eggs over light, ham, bacon and sausage patties from Rudy's Diner in Maine, along with a lobster roll from almost anywhere in Maine, and Julia Child's Chocolate Mousse would be fine.

Lobster bisque, a real caesar salad, veal oscar and that dessert that has vanilla ice cream with peaches drizzled in raspberry sauce that I obviously cannot remember the name.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

What a country gal!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

And proud of it. ^_^

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i think the starter would be lobster bisque with lots of claw meat in it for one starter - will have to think about the rest - this would have to be a big meal with many servings.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - the idea is to wear out the executioner and then kill him. ^_^

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Does the executioner double as the cook? It seems to happen that way in some families!

Seen a lot of roaches in FL. I am country and I would catch a cockroach as big as a lobster and sell it to a muesum!

I think it would depend on the day, not sure I could choose one favorite, but will say, my mom must not have ever cooked pot roast right, cause it wouldn't be that, and I have never made it!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee!

Thomaston, CT

As much as I love pot roast, my last meal would be weiner schniztel, crisp potato pancakes, & red cabbage..... with chocolate & vanilla gelato, covered with a chocolate shell & drizzled with raspberry sauce for dessert.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I could do potato pancakes

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I like all of that, except I would sub saurbraten for the schnitzel.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

The potato pancakes sound perfect.

New Hampshire, NH(Zone 5b)

We went to a new German restaurant last week and had the BEST red cabbage. Hubby's sauerbraten was super tender able to cut it with fork.

Thomaston, CT

There's a German rest. my cousins, brother & sil, & I go to in the spring....must try their sauerbraten next time.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Where's the restaurant Jen?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh, new one for us Weeze, in Allentown right on Main St next to the pharmacy, real tiny only about 6 tables, if you go on the weekend you need reservations. Have to get my fix since Black Forest is still closed.
