I had some Evening Grosbeaks, that came one day last week. I haven't seen them again. At least this time, there was food available for them so, they might be back later on. Here's one of them.

Nice variety to begin the thread. That red-breasted nuthatch pic is gorgeous. Congrats on the new backyard visitor.

I hadn't seen an oriole in about a month until today. Didn't get the perfect picture, but this one is fun b/c the extremely wet oriole (Orchard Oriole, I think) is in the front and a Nashville Warbler is behind her.

Then I got some Nashville Warbler shots.

This is a new Cardinal to the yard that won't be driven off. It's fearless and it's eating berries that aren't even ripe yet!

Red, wonderful photo of the Killdeer in the last thread-they have such pretty coloring.

Burn, thanks for the great new start. That Evening Grosbeak is gorgeous! I do hope they'll return for more photos. That Nuthatch is a pretty one too-like the colors in the trees with it. That Savannah Sparrow is a beauty. I'm still learning all the sparrows here-each one has such unique coloring.

Elphaba, that little water-logged oriole is adorable and the warbler is gorgeous. That "serious look" is beautiful and so cute! Hope that sweet cardinal doesn't get a tummy ache from the green berries.

Here's a good looking Brewer's Blackbird.

Thanks for the new thread burn. I have a Red-breatsed Nuthatch still around too. DH saw 3 out at the peanut feeder one evening. So I am hopeful they are staying for the winter!

Beautiful shots duc!

Nice hawk shot Burd. I saw a Red-tailed soaring yesterday while I was driving.

Love seeing the buntings!

From the 17th of this month over at DePauw. I thought this Turkey Vulture and the leaves presented an nice autumn picture!

Great start burn!! I love your shot of the Evening Grosbeak!!!

Elphaba, Lovely Nashville Warbler!

Duc, Great shots of all your beautiful birds!

Burd, Nice in flight of the Red-tailed Hawk!

GP, Beautiful Painted Buntings and Indigo!

Nanny, Nice one of the Vulture!

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Nanny, cool vulture shot! Perfect time of year too. I was thinking of doing a Halloween nature slideshow for my family and friends and was lamenting that I don't have the perfect vulture shot. I have lots of mushrooms, frogs and spiders though.

GP, beautiful Painted Buntings. I always enjoy your pictures of them. Wish one would visit me again.

Duc, great pics -- I'd never even heard of a Nuttall's woodpecker -- very cool.

Burd, beautiful hawk shot -- love the fingery feathers.

Gosh, great everyone!

The good news is that I was away for a couple of days bird watching. The bad news is that I was away for a couple days bird watching so have too many threads to catch up on!!

From today though…

And finally, first of season Brown Creeper! Thus begins the attempt for a clear shot! TURN AROUND and pose!!!

Thumbnail by Mrs_Ed

Didn't turn around for you, did he Mrs-Ed? ;0) I had the Hermit thrush doing that, but he finally decided to give me a few pose.
Love the pose of the Nuthatch on that feeder. And those "just" House Sparrows are cute with the fall foliage.

Nanny colors always embellish a shot, as in your photo of the Vulture. The Blue in the background makes everything pop.

GP, those male Buntings are so beautiful. Would like to see one of those, but they will never be in my corner of the world.

Burd that a great flight shot of the Hawk

Duc very sharp pictures, I love the Flicker

Elphaba the Nashville Warbler is a lovely sweet bird.

Thank for your nice comments everyone.

Nice shots everyone!! Over the last 3 weeks a Peregrine Falcon has been buzzing the cell phone tower's near where I work...trying to grab Starlings...seen him 3 diff. times now ...today he was right on the tail feather's of a Turkey Vulture before he broke off to go for Starlings. I never have my camera when I see him, but will keep my eye's open...would love to get a shot of him.

Marlton, NJ

Sweet shots guys! It's been rather warm here the last few days so I haven't seen the Dark-eyed Junco's around.
