Visited Mill Creek Greenhouses, a terrific new (to me) nursery yesterday. It is outside Columbia on Leesburg Road (off Garner's Ferry for Deanna and Jeannie). I posted the info on the SC nursery listings.
They had a wonderful variety of plants, evergreens to annuals with everything in between and all were well cared for. Their prices were more than fair also. It will be the new "must stop here" place for whenever I am in Cola town. Came home with a purple iochroma, 2 unusual and hard to find, ferns, a stunning jasmine Fiona's Sunrise which has bright yellow foliage and an evergreen to use as a holiday tree on the front porch. I had to use lots of discipline, could have filled the car with 3 times that, it has been a while since I saw such a variety in SC.

and you didn't tell us you were coming this way so we could have some lunch with ya!!! LOL.....thanks for the info - I'll have to check it out soon - Jeannie- daytrip soon???lol
That would have been fun, next time.
I hope I remember about this nursery when we do our yearly St Patty's day trip next year.

Hey, rednyr, I'm always up for a day trip, especially to a nursery recommended by ardesia!
Oh dear, I am afraid my nursery hopping necessitated by my obsessive compulsive plant buying addiction is well known now. :-)
You two are probably less than a half hour from this place, I am so envious.
Ardesia, Nancy's growing the purple Iochroma... I scoffed one up this spring and liked it so much I've got 3 cuttings in the GH for next year even as we "speak"... (it roots easily...so far).
Good to know it roots easily because I have already found out it is deer candy, I had better have some in the wings.
Now if only Nancy was open more often.......
e-mail me, Ardesia!
Will do! Next time I am heading up your way I'll contact you in advance.
