happily munching away on Ruellia tweediana " Chi Chi "
Thanks

Cat id please
A moth larva, of some sort. Don't recognize it off the top of my head. I'll dig around and see what I can find. May be a while as I've got a couple of deadlines staring me in the face right now. You could always put it in a container and raise it and see what emerges.

Thanks Dale, I just may do that !
Is this one solved? It looks very much like the Catalpa caterpillar I've seen (from a distance--on tree top).
Not sure what it is, although most likely a noctuid moth of some sort. Definitely not a Catalpa sphinx, though. There are so few good moth caterpillar guides (a lot of territory to cover there!).

No not solved, I never did catch it to raise. If I see one again I will as now I don't have a gazillion Monarchs in cages. Still have them on plants tho ! I told them I was taking them shopping for little Sombreros !
LOL!!
LMAO. I have a vivid image of little Monarch babies marching and munching with little sombreros and blankets... ariba! Hope lots of them make it down and back.
