Did I mess up my Globemaster???

Galesburg, MI(Zone 6a)

I moved to my home last fall after a frost so didn't know much about what plants I had. So I was delighted this spring when up popped a huge round purple flower like nothing I had seen before. The helpful people here identified it as Globemaster for me. Well the summer went by and I decided to redo large areas of that bed with daylilies. And of course I completely forgot about the allium because the foliage had long since faded and been cleaned up. So I finally had a flash today today and figured I better try to dig them up unless I want them coming up in the middle of the lilies. So I went to it and jackpot -- probably 40 bulbs of various sizes. However I am worried because the bigger ones had already started to grow roots. So I have a few questions. Will the ones that had already grown roots start growing again when I replant them? How long can I keep them out of the ground? And is there anything I can put them in to keep them best until I can replant? Thanks for any help!

Replant them now, they should be just fine.

I've been digging my Globemaster bulbs up every summer after they flower, storing them dry in a shopping bag in my basement, and then replanting them right about now. So I think yours should be fine for a couple days if you can't get to them right away.

Thanks for the responses. I will be able to plant them in a day or two. I just have them all in a bucket in my garage right now. Should that suffice for a day or two or do I need to put them in water, perlite, soil, etc.???
