I have seen these little guys 3 times now in Seattle. Each time I had unknowingly disturbed their hiding place and they scurried off and so I didn't get a good look at them. What I think I saw was a black lizard, 2 inches long with yellow markings. I can't seem to find a picture anywhere and so I am asking about them here.
About a lizard
Ambystoma macrodactylum, long toed salamander, is probably what I have seen. I'm just following up here in case anyone is interested.
